The Seasonal Life Retreat Series
You were built for full expression
The Seasonal Life is a four-retreat series based on the rhythms of the natural world. Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring. Each season asks something different of you. Each retreat gives you the space, the land, and the community to walk in concert with the earth under your feet.
Welcome to The Seasonal Life
An introduction to the series & why it matters
There is a different way to live, and the earth has been demonstrating it for longer than we have existed.
Every living system moves through cycles of expansion and contraction, fullness and emptiness, effort and rest. The bear hibernates. The tree leafs out in spring and drops its leaves without grief in autumn. The field, left to itself, knows exactly what each season requires. It seeds. It grows. It releases. It rests. Then it begins again, not from willpower, but from intelligence. This is what aliveness looks like when it is honored.
We are part of this. Our hormones shift with the light. Our nervous systems respond to cold and warmth, to abundance and scarcity, to the length of days. Chronobiology, the science of biological timing, has confirmed what indigenous wisdom traditions have always known: the human body is a seasonal creature. When we live in alignment with that truth, something in us settles into a steadiness that no productivity system can manufacture.
And yet something has gone wrong with how most of us live. We wake in January, in the quiet of winter, and demand full productivity from ourselves. We push through August fatigue as though the long, bright days ask nothing of us in return. We arrive at November feeling hollow, surprised by the return of darkness. We have built a world that runs on a single speed, and we are paying for it in exhaustion, disconnection, and an unsettling grief that, it turns out, is for the rhythm we have abandoned.
Living seasonally is a return to intelligence. Summer is for growing into your fullest expression, bringing your gifts forward without apology. Autumn is for discerning what to carry forward and releasing what belongs to the compost. Winter is for resting into reflection, for the deep gestation that fallow ground makes possible. Spring is for seeding dreams and allowing new life to push through. Each season has a nature. The question is whether we are willing to live inside it.
The Seasonal Life is a series of four retreats held at The Ground, a regenerative farm-stay and retreat space in Oregon's Yamhill County. Each gathering is intimate by design. The land is a teacher here, as present and instructive as any curriculum. The farm in its summer stride, the vineyard in its autumn release, the bare winter fields, the tentative green of early spring, each one holds a mirror to something in you that is ready to be seen.

The Seasonal Pilgrimage Invitation
For those called to attend all four retreats
There is a version of The Seasonal Life where you choose just one retreat and go home changed. That is a real and valuable thing, and it is entirely available to you.
Then there is the other version.
In the second version, you commit to the full year. You arrive at The Ground in June, already open to discovering what September will ask of you. You grow into your fullest expression in summer, learn in autumn what to keep and what to release, rest into the deep quiet of winter in January, and arrive in April with the readiness of someone who has actually lived a full cycle rather than rushed through it.
The four retreats in The Seasonal Life are designed to stand alone. They are also designed as a living pilgrimage through the year. Ripening. Releasing. Resting. Seeding. Then beginning again but changed.
People who complete the full year program consistently say the same thing: that they arrived at the first retreat thinking they needed a break and left the fourth understanding something different about how they want to live.
If you feel the pull of the full year program, trust it. Something in you already knows which season you have been living in too long. We are happy to help you reserve space for the entire series.
